Vixen. Genie. Vixdjinn!

Hi! I'm Phorm, and I'm a Vixdjinn!

A Friendly Vixdjinn Says Hello!

I'm a genie girl, who really likes being a genie, and really likes everything about genies (really)! I'm a bit confused, lost, and trying to find my way, but I always enjoy interacting with folks here. (Trans🏳️‍⚧️, occasionally NSFW, Be 18+ or please be gone.)

I just finished playing Here Comes Niko!, and I have to say that I enjoyed my time quite a bit. There's not a whole lot to do a deep-dive on in terms of gameplay mechanics - The game is largely a cute platformer that is proficient at being exactly that. Emphasis on the cute.

You play as Niko, an aspiring professional friend in a world of adorable animal people (that is largely apparently run by frogs). You spend your time interacting with folks and helping them with whatever sundry problems they might be facing. And the folks in question tend to be absolutely wonderful furry critters.

Behind it all, the narrative reveals that Niko is actually desperate for the job after fleeing an abusive home situation. Interstitial voice mail messages fill in the story beats, and it feels kind of painfully familiar in many ways. Particularly when Niko's face shows just how agonizing those voicemail messages makes them feel. But overall the story is light, and it wraps up nicely.

As an aside, I love these lovable delinquents. Check out that character design! I wanna loiter near a vending machine with them.

The game is simple, but cozy. Helping animal folk around a colorful world was what I wanted - I needed something that was a bit of a contrast to darker times and fears. And Here Comes Niko!, while not revolutionary, was just that. I have to give tremendous thanks to Rose (@MewMus) for recommending this game! It was a joy from start to finish.

I liked it enough to 100% it. Employee of the month, baby! Check out that photo.
