When I was growing up, all the adults were afraid that video games would ruin me by desensitizing me to violence and addicting me to aggression.
In reality video games ruined me by instilling the immutable expectation that I would become a part of a rag-tag band of misfits who would go on a world-spanning adventure (side quests included), wherein our shared trials, victories, and heartfelt moments would forge us into group of lifelong friends.
To this day, I remain mildly disappointed that punching a garbage can will not reveal a freshly baked turkey for me to eat.
Can you believe that you can't whip a concrete wall to reveal a pot roast?! This reality is busted, I swear.
