Incidentally, I really really really hope that this turns out to be the exception to the retro shooter rule, and the dev doesn't go on to do something massively bigoted in the next few days. There's zero indication they would! But so many others have.
The last thing we need is another Voidpoint situation ruining a really promising title. Ugh.
