Does anyone know if Resonite has become any less obtuse with regard to... well, everything? But especially avatar uploading?
I fumbled with it a while ago and it was just impenetrable to me. I've heard it's gotten a number of updates since, though.

Yesn't. While there is still a lack of a good tutorial, they have polished a lot of the UI and UX, and the community is more than willing to help fill in the gaps
That's at least a step in the right direction! Maybe I'll try again sometime soon.
I found it just far too overwhelming last time. But I'm not a 3D rigger/modeler nor anything even remotely close to a programmer. I'm not sure if Resonite simply isn't for laypersons.
It certainly is jumping into the deep end so to speak. Resonite is powerful and doesn't have the stupid NSFW rules that VRchat has, but that comes with the downside of showing you all the knobs right off the bat. Combine that with the less than stellar docs and you get this mess. That said, if you can get a community member to help out (Look for people with Green or Yellow names!) they'll try their best!
That makes a lot of sense. The entire reason I want to get into Resonite is specifically because I refuse to use VRChat due to its needing unfettered kernel-level access.
It seems powerful, and extremely wonderful that it's out there! I'm not sure how many people I can even find, but I'll do my best to give it a shot.
