Vixen. Genie. Vixdjinn!

Hi! I'm Phorm, and I'm a Vixdjinn!

A Friendly Vixdjinn Says Hello!

I'm a genie girl, who really likes being a genie, and really likes everything about genies (really)! I'm a bit confused, lost, and trying to find my way, but I always enjoy interacting with folks here. (Trans🏳️‍⚧️, occasionally NSFW, Be 18+ or please be gone.)

Saw a joke about a genie and a QA engineer whose wishes are:

  • Fulfill the opposite of my second wish
  • Don't fulfill my third wish
  • Ignore my first wish

And it made me think of Teff. How would she react?..

I realize this will make several people very sad, but you can't really make your wishes wrap around zero and get 255 or something. There's indeed a bit of a tangled logic loop in those wishes, which is pretty fun! But this is why genies have some manner of control over the way in which wishes are granted. It'd be easy to twist this series of wishes in some manner, even for the neophyte genie. Me personally, I'd just let the engineer in this situation observe this infinite loop from within an illusion, and then go back to my bottle. They can enjoy thinking they've 'won' by breaking me, and I get some rest.

Teff?

Teff doesn't play by the rules. She keeps up the appearance of following the rules, because it's easier to lure in rubes that she can manipulate and exploit. Usually she'll try to grant a wish as close as possible to the stated phrasing, just to convince whoever thinks they're holding her bottle that they've got a sweet deal. Then she'll weave some twists into the next wish. And then they'll never see the third.

In this case, though? Teff doesn't have the patience. She'd narrow her eyes, make a dismissive noise, and say something akin to "Well aren't YOU clever?"

Then she'd bottle them without flourish.

Or much worse.

If Teff's not having fun, no one's having fun.

Anonymous User asked:

Is it possible for someone who's not a genie to get pulled into a genie's lamp/bottle/etc.? If so, can they get out again on their own?

I answered this to some extent over here, but I'll focus on the last bit of your question:

Nope.

If a genie can't get in and out of the vessel on their own, a mortal isn't getting out without burning a wish! And the longer you spend in there, well...

One edge case: If a mortal is currently in possession of a genie's vessel, and the genie and said mastress have an agreement that she can come and go at her desire, then the genie can invite said mastress into the vessel. But it will require the genie's assistance for said mortal to enter and exit!
