Vixen. Genie. Vixdjinn!

Hi! I'm Phorm, and I'm a Vixdjinn!

A Friendly Vixdjinn Says Hello!

I'm a genie girl, who really likes being a genie, and really likes everything about genies (really)! I'm a bit confused, lost, and trying to find my way, but I always enjoy interacting with folks here. (Trans🏳️‍⚧️, occasionally NSFW, Be 18+ or please be gone.)

If I can send one last ask or wish before it all ends, can I wish to be a genie? What would the transformation entail as we're all sent off on our way again?

You absolutely can, and I would absolutely grant that one at face value. We'd probably have a discussion beforehand about what being a genie means to you - It's not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. Are you looking for more mythological accuracy, to the djinn? More pop-culture sensibility? If so, reflecting what media? How do you feel about the rules of your vessel? For that matter, do you want a bottle or a lamp? Something else?

The transformation process would reflect what you desire. What your heart desires, even if your mouth doesn't speak it. If you want something soft and gentle, you get that. If you want something showy? Yeah, we'll have pillars of smoke and magical explosions, complete with a near magical-girl level transformation sequence. You want it to happen, but not be your fault, due to years of societal osmotic judgement rendering you unable to recognize or voice your own needs? We work with that.

I know you're likely looking for a multi page detailed description, but I'm afraid I'm not in the right headspace for something like that right now. Plus, the way it would be granted would be different for every case. I hope this isn't disappointing.

Thank you for the final ask.

Hi I wanna say I'm gonna miss you when Cohost shuts down. It's bittersweet, but your posts have gotten more.... confident lately for lack of a better word. Not that it's all cheerful. but the tone is less self deprecating than when I first followed and I'm proud to have followed your posting arc on cohost while I could

Oh gosh - Thank you so much for these kind words. I've really enjoyed seeing your comments, posts, and your presence on CoHost, as well! And hearing this makes me really happy. Thank you so.

I have to admit, yeah, I did start off on shakey ground here when I first joined. Because, like so many other places on the internet, I didn't know if I was going to be safe or comfortable here. There were so many other places that turned sour, or honestly just yawned wide and swallowed me into nothingness. That is to say: I just became immediately irrelevant regardless of where I was. That made me feel wrong, and scared. And like, this is to say nothing of some of the issues with outright hostility out there in addition to those issues.

I was sure afraid of that happening on CoHost - But instead I found that it was a safe place to flourish, and become more myself. And it felt really good to have a place where I could be comfortable. And be me. It really did.

I want to write more about why CoHost was special to me soon, but in the meantime, thanks so much for helping me thrive here <3 (That goes for everyone!)

@kossai asked:

is there anywhere else that phorm host genie thoughts and questions ? that is what kossai will miss about cohost , as outlet for very casual nonhuman questions and thoughts !

This is one of the big things that I'm going to miss most about CoHost, and I don't particularly know where to find a suitable replacement. The ability to take questions on genie lore (and potentially Transgression lore) is something I absolutely want to be able to continue with in the future.

Right now, I don't really know how to do this without subscribing to a website entirely dedicated to taking such question submissions - which is way less appealing that having it built into the platform. Tumblr, of course, offers this option. However, I'm a bit wary of Tumblr, given the acts of their management and their unpredictable behavior toward queer content and people. There's always just replies or direct @ type posts on any given platform, but I know some people very much value being able to submit anonymous questions (And, I'll be honest, the concept of non-CoHost anonymous questions scares me).

That's a tedious and longwinded way of my saying: It's very important to me, and I'm looking into it. But at present, I don't particularly know what the answer is.

If I figure anything out, I'll absolutely update here, though!

Lilium-Mortem
@Lilium-Mortem asked:

Genie lore question: are there any rules to what wishes are possible to grant? Like the classic no raising people from the dead/ no making people fall in love/ no wishing for more wishes rules? Or are there some wishes too powerful to be granted, like "I wish to be god-emperor of all reality"?

It depends heavily on the wish, honestly.

No wish is explicitly forbidden, in such a manner as to be forbidden from the word "go". But some wishes require such a massive investment of magical energy, or would cause such monumental havoc to the universe, that genies really don't like to grant them.

If you wish for such a thing from an experienced genie, you're going to get either A) A pretty thorough and patient explanation as to why that's a bad idea, or B) Get your wish seriously twisted, depending on what the genie feels about you.

Also, genies can sense your deepest desire - and the true motivation - behind every wish. They're on the hook for granting that, rather than the explicit word-for-word spoken wish that comes out of your mouth.

So if you, say, wish for the entire universe to collapse into a singularity, from which it can never be recovered, that all of creation be blighted into oblivion in the blink of an eye - she might just give you a really soft hug, a cup of tea, and lend an ear to your problems. Because maybe you just really need a friend in that moment.

Genies can also sense when the intent behind a wish is, simply put, vile. So if someone gets a hold of a bottle and makes some damned fool regressive wish, you can bet that one is getting turned around on them ASAP.

Of course, a lot of these considerations are nuanced and conditional. When you're fresh out of the lamp and going through introductions, sometimes it's just a lot easier to say "These wishes are off limits" than say "TECHNICALLY these wishes are within my power, but due to a number of reasons related to conservation of energy and causality, they are ill-advised". A whiff of deception, perhaps, but it keeps things moving along without getting too far into the weeds. Most people holding a genie botle don't care about the hoes or whys of genie-ness. They just really want their wishes. So a bit of polish on the delivery, and this method keeps everyone happy.

(Oh, and wishing for infinite wishes is, and always will be, a one-way ticket to geniefication. You set us up that blatantly? Yeah, we're gonna act on it.)
