Robot Beach (I-Ninja, including Official UK PlayStation 2 Magazine Demo 42/Demo 43 version [2003])
Did you catch on to how I snuck this game onto the post from Day 133? I intentionally put it between all the animation works to see if anyone would catch on to a game being mentioned there, and realize it’s probably making an appearance in the list later down the line. If you’re not in the MaGMML server (Where I talked about the game already), and you figured it out back then, congratulations, I should talk with you more often!
It’s all in the semi-futuristic feel of the setting and music. Lying on the scraps of a mechanical civilization formerly governed by a giant robot, it’s up to you to reconstruct it and use it to fight the empire you’re up against. The main melody besides the adventurous I-Ninja leitmotif (You’ll know which by hearing any other I-Ninja track; it kinda ruins some otherwise good tracks with how shoehorned it is outside this one), gives off that feel of a saturday morning cartoon show with its “too cool for school” catchiness, which is what this game is all about; why else would Don Bluth direct the CGI cutscenes? A great introduction to a long forgotten action platformer, I must say. Oh, and if you don't want the leitmotif, the beta version made mere months before release is linked too!
(Length before loop [Both]: 1.5+ minutes)
