Niche Games Enjoyer

Average person in their 20s. View Backloggd for my taste in games. I swear it's really good! And to clear up confusion, when I say "PMD", it always refers to "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon", which is another series I love!

Play Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Freedom Planet 2! And Solatorobo, and PMD: Gates to Infinity; those games have been shaping my preferences considerably!

SPOILERS FOR GAMES 2+ YEARS OLD!

That first link shown above, is where you can find the thousands of 3DS Pokemon Mystery Dungeon portraits I sorted with the help of Emmett Eon; very good stuff!

Calisto Yew ~ Let Me Laugh at Cool (Gyakuten Kenji/Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth [2009])

This right here is heaven for Swing genre enjoyers. Calisto Yew herself tends to take everything Miles Edgeworth says as a silly joke because of his overly serious aura, and given her saying of laughter being the way she keeps her cool, one could say this generally unserious but catchy track describes her rollercoaster of a lifestyle

(Length before loop: Nearly 1.5 minutes)

Pursuit ~ Time for a Great Turnabout! (Dai Gyakuten Saiban/The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures [2015])

I was going to push this track to a different Day until finishing the game, for the scenario where I end up preferring a different track from this game more than the one featured today, but the more I look at my backlog of games before it, the more I realize it’ll mess with the randomized order too much if I keep pushing this track beyond its intended date. So, here it is, the only concrete thing I know about The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles!

Luckily, I’m a fan of what the Ace Attorney franchise has provided so far, and only have the Professor Layton crossover and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles left to finish someday, both purchased long in advance! So that also means I have something to say here despite not playing TGAA yet!

If you loved the iconic “Pursuit ~ Corner the Culprit” track of the very 1st game, this one takes a lot of cues from that for the beginning, but is overall slower to great effect. Those heavy Horns are my personal highlight, they give this track a stand-out flair not often seen in the franchise up to this point, as do those oh-so dramatic Violins that enhance the mood of each section they’re featured in! 30 seconds in is where the beginning ends, moving to a completely new section that also happens to be my favorite, since that’s where both aforementioned instruments get used the most!

I can only imagine what awaits me as I plan to tackle this game after Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright. Will I love it like others do, or not? That’s a case yet to be solved, don’t you think?
