Niche Games Enjoyer

Average person in their 20s. View Backloggd for my taste in games. I swear it's really good! And to clear up confusion, when I say "PMD", it always refers to "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon", which is another series I love!

Play Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Freedom Planet 2! And Solatorobo, and PMD: Gates to Infinity; those games have been shaping my preferences considerably!

SPOILERS FOR GAMES 2+ YEARS OLD!

That first link shown above, is where you can find the thousands of 3DS Pokemon Mystery Dungeon portraits I sorted with the help of Emmett Eon; very good stuff!

Lyn Inaizumi - Last Surprise -Scramble- (Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers/Persona 5 Strikers [2020])

Sorry Persona 5 fans, but I didn’t like the original very much, nowhere near what I’d call a favorite. This remix however? Picks up the pace and fills in all “empty” parts I didn’t like with energetic Metal Guitars all over the board, so into this list it goes! Glow-ups are a wonderful thing, aren’t they? I’m not going to pretend I know much about the Persona series beyond surface level stuff, so I’ll leave it at that.

Knights of the Holy Spear (Persona 2: Innocent Sin [1999])

Here’s a game I don’t know many tracks from, so there’s a good chance I’d prefer a different track upon playing it in the long future, but it’ll be good for now, yes?

The brief Choirs and String combo come to mind 1st, since they’re also what make the music feel “holy”, not just the Church Bell sample. Its also got a catchy Acid Bass in the background from the 7 or 8 second mark onward, which is sure to keep my interest as yet another memorable melody not drowned out by the intended intimidation factor. And who knew putting that much reverb into the Drum would be engaging in its own right?

From my limited knowledge, a different take of this track is also part of the opening theme, so there’s probably some deeper meaning I’m missing, which I guess I’ll find when I get to the Persona 2 duology!
