My mom texted me today that my pumpkin vines have 5 pumpkins on them. I broke out of a rut on creative work publishing today. My cat is purring gently under my arm, she was so brave exploring the rest of the house a bit ago. It's the first night I'm gonna get to sleep under a blanket it's so cold with the window open. My friends love me and I love them.

The world is so beautiful. I should really get to bed soon. Good night, Cohost. I love you all.

I got the site update in before midnight! It's broken on mobile! And only the top shelf! An important lore piece is currently the bee movie script for want of time! BUT!

THE BOOKS WORK ON NES.GAY!!!!!!!!

The first of the pink books, I guess my personal journals now, contains my thoughts on Cohost's passing. I'll lay them here, too, just for the reader's sake.

"I want to get this out today so I can post it on Cohost. It dies today, or really tomorrow morning EST. I hardly used it, but I really liked it. I found many things I loved there. The style of posting, the freedom to use CSS in posts and play around and really… have creative control in a space. Have a space, that wasn’t just one’s own high castle, to play and experiment and use the magic of code to do something nice. I’m really going to miss it.

I think that captures best my feelings on it, it was genuinely magical. Computers are at their most beautiful, when they are at the whims of the user. When they behave as mechanisms, open and exposed and free, levers you can trace and try to find their place. When they’re a dance, love between two, making beauties neither could see on their own. Cohost’s posting format, allowed that. And I think it’s why I loved it so much, even if so little on the site used all that.

The magic of the machine, of cams and followers, permeated the rest. You were all people who could appreciate a good CSS crime, a site made by like 5 ethically dubious furries, tops. A hardly polished beautiful thing, with the potential for creation within itself.

Cohost gave me the feeling of making a new Minecraft world. Before I got too routine in it, and landscapes ceased to amaze. In a way I’m kinda glad it’s dying, before the potential could run out or be ruined. Now it’ll always feel like that, to me.

It made me work on this. A different world, of equal possibility, if only I have the strength to make myself make the rest. The island’s exterior sits unfinished in my Blender files, for over a year this bookshelf was only a link, to a plain text page.

Tonight, I swear on the beating of my heart, I fix that. You’ll know, I guess, if it’s true. Purpose renewed, I return to my work.

Goodbye and good night, all. I love you, I love this place, all the beautiful world; with all my heart.
