One of the first things I ever learned about the Islam is that Muslim Scholars are the ones who saved and expanded a lot of science and mathematics that were lost to most Europeans for much of the Dark Ages. So I started to wonder if the organized part of the modern Islamic faith had a set of guidelines for Muslims who travel in space for things like facing Mecca to pray, and it turns out there is a fatwa for it!
I love hearing the ways people come up with to handle situations like this where the original idea could never have accounted for modern changes.
