I post about weird random diverse stuff, often kinky, sometimes not. ABDL, Furry Stuff, Otherkin (Kobold / Raichu) Feels, Sometimes TTRPG stuff?

Hell, I (very occasionally) make music and sometimes pixel art, I'm writing a TTRPG, and sometimes I think I want to continue my dream of making a video game and then look at all the spaghetti code I wrote and decide that I'll duel the devil some other day instead.

From an aspiring kobold owner and definitely not a kobold wearing shades who wants to know what to look for in a good home:

What kinds of things should an aspiring kobold owner have prepared for their new kobold's habitat? Important things to have, places to set up for them, ways to make the transition to a new home feel comfortable, anything else you wanna add in.~

Well the first thing is to be a dragon. If you're a dragon your kobolds will feel right at home just about anywhere. They love living in a dragon's lair. But maybe you aren't a dragon and can't become a dragon. Or maybe you are a dragon but you want to do even better. In that case, read on.

Alright, I'll start with environmental factors. There are three kinds of spaces your kobolds will need. First, a dark cool area, preferably with a smooth stone floor. Try to mimic a cave. Second, a warm bright place. Again, a smooth stone floor is preferable, along with a sun lamp. You're mimicking a sunning rock. Kobolds are (almost always) warm blooded, but not nearly as warm blooded as mammals, birds, and dragons. They appreciate a little help with thermoregulation. You'll want both of these spaces to be large enough for a good number of kobolds to sprawl out without touching.

The final kind of space you'll want is somewhere soft and cozy. Blankets, cushions, sheets, quilts, throws, mattresses, comforters, weighted blankets, mats, pads, pillows, plushies, and anything else comfy and warm are perfect. You'll want the place lit only with fairy lights, sunlight filtered through curtains, blinds, and/or shades, and other soft and dim sources of illumination. This place needs to be perfect for cuddling.

Moving on from environment, let's discuss amenities. I believe I've covered this before, but you're going to need rocks: shiny rocks for kobolds to hoard and, with certain kobolds, less shiny rocks for kobolds to snack on. I'd also suggest keeping a supply of coins to serve those same purposes. Obviously you also need to supply adequate water and regular food. And while certain kobolds might enjoy eating and drinking from pet bowls, you should make sure to have enough plateware and utensils for everyone.

You also need to make sure you can provide the basics. The kobolds need a way to get clean. The kobolds need clothes, especially in colder climates. The kobolds need lots of toys for enrichment. And the kobolds need good medical care.

Oh! And never get one kobold. Kobolds need company and its much easier to get your kobold playmates than to fill that role all on your own.

And I think that's everything... I hope this helps!

And if you happen to be a kobold...
Then here's what you'll want to look for:

First, you'll probably want to find a dragon who cares personally for their kobolds and sees them as cute pets to be cuddled and coddled instead of disposable servants. Preferably one who isn't currently at war, in a territorial struggle, or terrorizing a nearby kingdom.

Second, find a strong dragon. A strong dragon can protect you better and will have access to better stuff.

And third, make sure the dragon has a personality you'll get along well with. If you're kinky, make sure their kinks match.

Also, make sure you consider how many kobolds the dragon has. If you want a lot of personal attention, fewer kobolds is better. However, if the dragon has no kobolds and they aren't relatively young, that's suspicious. If they have no kobolds but are relatively young, you've got a good chance of becoming their favorite but you'll have to do a lot more work.

Anyway, I hope this helps!
