PeptineLog 5-3: Let it Snow, man!

Today i did the lv 35 and 40 Dragoon Quests that were... well, they're almost identical, serve you a sliver of lore through text only and only involve going to the same spot to fight a couple monsters... This is extremely disappointing, honestly. Absolute disgrace, i want more Estinien! gimme Estinien! his name sounds vaguely sacrilegious in French.

I also did not one but TWO quests involving talking snowmen... one that wanted to eat snowballs i threw and another that wanted a smooch and a cheer...

This is very strange and i fully expect there never to be an explanation for it. Snowmen just sometimes are sentient and no one is aware. That's reasonably.

Next up: THE NAVEL!

For real, both the 35 and 40 quests are identical.
Talk to Alberic, get some lore.
go to Witch drop, talk to another elezen there to prove yourself.
suddenly monsters.
After the monsters die, the elezen NPC (that's literally standing within 10 feet of the other one) is impressed, tells you to go back to Alberic.
Talk to Alberic, get some lore.

It's... it's almost upsetting how obvious it is they had nothing for the level 40 quest.

don't worry the ARR DRG quests are objectively bad. so bad they get retconned in the main story of a later expansion.

but at least they're not as bad as PLD! somehow!

(i'm not gonna explain how they get retconned or even what parts get retconned but it is VERY funny imo)

It’s funny, I was unimpressed by the ARR Warrior job quests back in the day, but they score over a lot of other ones in that they don’t take themselves seriously and the underlying silliness makes them more fun. As I level more jobs, I’m noticing the level 60-70 job quests are usually more entertaining than lower levels — another way in which I like Stormblood!
