I have a few definitive favorites. The Margarita, the Daiquiri, and the Smash.
The Margarita's just a nice refreshing drink. A really nice compliment to a hot summer.
Daiquiris and smashes are fantastic for their versatility. At its core, the daiquiri is just rum, lime juice, and sugar. But it can be modified a lot, as seen by the fact people seem to think the "original daiquiri" is a frozen strawberry drink.
Smashes are basically the LEGO chest of cocktails. It can be made with any liquor, any combination of fruit (and herbs), and any sweetener. It's fantastic. My current favorite as of late is white peach and sage, made with a white rum and rich demerara syrup.
