yeah, i want to recreate that experience in game form to show that a lot of us is in this hell.
Love single/limited choices used for this effect. I haven't played parsers in a very long time, and that abrasiveness worked particularly well (although I'm thankful you left a hint on the homepage).
yeah, i only had that page up for people who are really, really stuck because otherwise the trick wouldn't work.
took me a while to figure out what to do to actually progress the script for a while and that was frustrating and then the rest made me even more frustrated with the lack of agency. i'm assuming the use of a natural language parser was to amplify this specific reaction of "what do you want from me?" using it's traditional weakness as an asset?
thanks for putting out personal works like this
edit: ah, didn't see the single choice jam guess i can't read
haha, the single choice jam is more a clue than anything else. i wanted the player to be frustrated and angry before guessing the verb correctly. i find abrasive games like this interesting.
i’ll be writing a postmortem about it because yeah, most of the hostile game design decisions is intentional.
thanks for playing it and writing your thoughts down :-)
