(dont mind me just throwing stones from my lil ol glass house)

your genre of the day is: what if a mid-2000's hip-hop artist who really likes the Avalanches got hired to do ads for a new JRPG set in modern times.

I think it has a cool sense of progression! building up and breaking down around new samples, letting old classics return and whatnot.

(I'm extremely not the one to tell you how to do this) but I do feel like it's missing a return to "normal" harmony in there, tho. like, heres some funky stuff, but then for a break we return to just a sample on its own or a set of four chords or something (actually upon relistening it turns out you do that at the end! but it'd be as nice or nicer in the middle i think)

but if you were to take like individual 20 second snippets at random and show them in isolation, I'd still be like :o which is cool

also this is entirely a me thing but I don't like the sound of bitcrushers, esp automated bitcrushers that much :X iirc somewhere in this 30 minute epic there is some talk about "authentic" downsampling, idc that much about authenticity but I do think sticking to a lighter touch does a better job of getting that feel across https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yNwueNCYjQ
