Yeah, I also found it interesting how they just mentioned "oh this is where the Twill originally came from and were displaced" as an aside in this episode, when that whole season started out with them, only to toss them aside immediately afterwards.

I guess in parts this is also a result of them making indigenous struggle part of their story, but not having any character actually be a part of that group, aside from Eclectic.

I also felt pretty bad coming out of this episode. The reintroduction of Leap and Cas's crew was a total whiff. I've never been as excited about the potential of Leap coming back as Keith apparently has been! And treating Eclectic's death totally differently from Phrygian's, or Figure's, who died almost the same way, or any other PC's ever, just feels shitty. I hope that Austin and Keith manage to do something more with it later and that Jack doesn't kill off August (to keep one Delegate main character in focus), but even if I get my wishes I'm not enjoying the finale right now.

There are definitely major problems with the treatment of the Delegates and Twill and Concretists. (As @MOKKA said, the fact that until Eclectic joined the group there wasn't anyone from Palisade among the player characters is a sign of issues. Along with the early interest in Twill characters slowly dropping out.)

When you say the Divine monarchy invalidates things with the Delegates -- do you mean that it is pulling narrative focus off the Delegates? Or that it impedes Reunion's (theoretical) goal? Or something else I haven't understood about what is happening?

Not as much invalidates, but it does feel like with the immediate interest and excitement that came to it in 48, that it's going to be the only thing about Delegates going forward.

Compare how much enthusiasm the players had for inventing Monarchy 2 to anything else involving Delegates. It gave me the same feeling as back in Orbital where it was discussed about how the perspective of General Mourning was something to be valued and explored, and the first thing they did was decide whether or not to kill her immediately, and then she did nothing while Mustard Red got to be the star of the show when dealing with Cause leadership throughout the season.

Whenever the third installment of this trilogy comes, Delegates aren't going to matter. The Divine Monarchy will.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying about this tendency in FaTT.

I guess on first listen I didn't quite get that the Delegates might be the most important subjects of a Divine monarchy, but that is what's implied in the transcript... I truly do not want the monarchy plot thread to win out here. Obviously it would be hugely disappointing for Delegates to get shafted, but the monarchy is also retreading old ground in a way that is, personally, not very interesting.

I agree with a lot of this! On one hand I understand that they don't have time to explore every plot thread, but if you've got time to talk bout how you order your eggs at the diner, maybe you can make time to dive into the details of the indigenous people on Palisade and the specifics of their struggle. It feels like they do a lot of saying "we want to center the indigenous resistance" and then they just. Don't execute on it.
