Unfortunately, there is no adequate replacement for a lot of software, free or otherwise. The only thing that can replace Adobe Premiere for most workflows is Final Cut and that requires investing entirely in Apple's ecosystem so even that isn't a real alternative (and the reverse is also true). The Free And Gratis Graphic Operations Toolkit is not remotely a substitute for Photoshop. You can go down the list. If you can adapt your workflow to a free or cheaper alternative, that's great, but not everyone can and there's no percentage in yelling at people who are just trying to get their work done about it.
