So I just rolled the credits on the new Pokemon. But first, some spoiler-free context:
Just over three years ago a conversation about my avatar in Pokemon Sword is what finally got me to come out as trans after previous failed attempts. So in a way Pokemon Sword literally changed my life.
When I was a preteen my first stepfather emotionally abused me in a manner that may be all too familiar to some of y'all. Crying is weakness and all that.
As a result I've cried at a story like once in the past 25 years before this past month? But here's Pokemon Scarlet making me emotional at points. And then finishing a couple of storylines and then rolling credits I literally cried twice. Did Pokemon Scarlet break my emotional dam?
