i laugh remembering Asimov chose the term positronic brain specifically because it was in the news and it had no scientific backing, he just picked a buzzword
in a sense he was totally right that true humanlike intelligence in a brain-sized form factor would probably require some massive physical engineering breakthrough as well as vastly more sophisticated programming than we're capable of
