Sanctity was a long way from her home in the Principality, and as such, she had to make do with the resources that Barovia had. Her spinal implant thankfully had a few more years of life left in it before it needed to be replaced, but the arm was another story.
Constant use both in and out of battle left it crackling and bruised, and a spur-of-the-moment deal with the inquistive (and morally dubious) Victor Vallakovich left the hand in dire straits. The hand was crackling, and magical energy was starting to seep out of the wires and tubes that ran through its shell.
There wasn't much time left here. Barovia wasn't going to let them stay for long, and the confrontation with Strahd was inevitable.
She pets the toad she saved from Old Bonegrinder, and considers giving Ilyana another visit. If all went well, then the chance of her staying in Barovia was going to be slim.
If all went poorly, then they were probably going to be found among the spirits that march to Castle Ravenloft night after night.
There is no other way out of the valley. The arm is falling apart. The spinal implant has little time left. She misses home.
AND THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH HIM.
I'm not much for D&D, but I go fucking crazy for stories about Curse of Strahd or the Tomb of Horrors!
