Despite being big-eared prey animals, the mice are 100% indifferent to loud noises. Fireworks and thunder don't even wake them up. I don't think they're deaf, they look at me when I talk to them, they have simply classified fireworks as Not Of Relevance To Mouse

probably not that many struck by lightning, either
(mouse lightning safety advice: in the event of a thunderstorm, run into the middle of an open field. if you're under a tree the tree could be struck, but if there's nothing around you, your two inch tall body is not going to be much of a lightning rod)

I think this may be why a rat like me jumps out of my skin when I hear a vacuum cleaner yet find fireworks only annoying because they keep me awake during what should be quiet hours.
The way you capitalized this made me think of telling people they don't need to pay attention to something by saying it's NORTY (Not Of Relevance To You)
