once again, for the people in the back: if you’re tempted to post something jokingly threatening towards any government employee or official (or a former president) or even “I sure wish someone would do something”, but you wouldn’t feel comfortable with a federal prosecutor reading your joke post aloud to a very unimpressed judge with no sense of humor, then don’t fucking post it. Do not assume “anything goes” on your private accounts or DMs or instant messaging services either.
I promise you it was not so funny or so cathartic to post that it’s worth the Secret Service or FBI showing up at your door, and potentially facing criminal charges. They take “joke” threats extremely seriously.
