@Randomguy664 asked:

What was Ririn's relationship with her father? She looks like soneone with 'daddy issues' sometimes, but i know a lot of those problems were with Karyn instead.

I was saving this as a reason to draw Marc, but man it's been nearly half a year since you asked this so lemme just answer lmao

Ririn was a daddy's girl!! A spoiled little bratty princess! Marc, who believed Ririn was his daughter and his alone (for context to those who don't know, she's partially Bertram, her mother's Summon's daughter but that is Complicated), absolutely adored her. Lucas, his son (and firstborn) hates him with a passion, Amya, Bertram's daughter, was forced to be put up for adoption, so Ririn, his little girl, was absolutely adored! She missed him a ton after he got sent off to jail, but between Lucas and Karyn talking down about him (which she originally hated/tried defending him over), she came to have doubts and concerns about him.

Ririn used to be wary of monsterkind, not only because she got attacked by a Summon, but moreso because the man is really quite ulim racist. Extremely, extremely so. Grew up in a city where their monsterborn population quickly grew, wherein, after losing fights (amongst other things) against them as a teen, developed basically an inferiority complex towards them. It's part of why he feels strongly about making indrae capable of fighting monsterkind those who use magic or are born with super strength. He only gives his evoker wife a pass because she shares the same passion. Ririn, upon learning that she's partially ulim, convinces herself that her father would hate her, especially after learning about what happened with Amya from Lucas over time. She once kept contact with him, but basically dropped contact from everyone once she became a Hunter.

I hope this explains Ririn's very Fatherless Behavior
