so i'm SURE you all have seen me gunpla post pretty often. i recently purchased a new respirator with a speaking diaphragm so that i can be more easily understood (it's also apparently direly more comfortable than the one i'm using right now), so my old one is on the backburner - except that i also purchased organic filters for use with spraypainting. next month i'm going to start buying hobby rattle cans and experimenting with how spraypainting gunpla works!
i have a porch and random cardboard boxes galore, so it won't be an issue to also do it in an safe environment. most people prefer spray painting gunpla, because it ends up smoother, since there's a lot of flat surfaces compared to other mini figures, which encourage brush painting because of how many granular details there are.
that said, once i feel comfortable to start intelligently planning out painting, i'll invest in a large amount of masking tape for spray-painted designs, some acryllic paint, and a super fine-tip brush to start adding funky details like pride flag and kill tallies on custom kits. :3
