Zhu is a Half-Orc who after many years roaming the lands, cast aside because of hate and prejudice, finally found her family and her purpose in a monastery near Baldur's Gate. But her home was attacked by bloodthirsty Drows, and though she tried to save her people - she has the scars to prove her dedication -, they perished to the vile enemies. Her limp body fell down a waterfall, and she would've died, crushed on the rocks below... if not for the Nautiloid's capture.

Yes, yes, I made another character! But hear me out: I was very curious to try out the Monk class, and Half-Orc was the last race I really wanted to try out. Also, this is the first time I'm playing in the Tactician mode! I want to test my skills, and while I'm at it, get the Tactician trophy (hopefully).

So far, I'm having lots of fun with the class, and Tactician has been surprisingly easy. I killed Commander Zhalk in the Nautiloid (thanks in no small part to Shadowheart and her Drop spell hehe) and cleared most of the area around the Grove. Some encounters worry me a lot (damn Githyanki), but that's future Zhu problem! I believe Act 1 and most of Act 2 will be fine, though we'll see what happens at the créche. Might make Astarion pick up the mace and blow the place up as Alywyll did (Astarion did not like it!) lol

Now, one dilemma I still haven't found a solution for: who should I romance? Karlach, so the two big girls can be happy forever more? Shadowheart, so Zhu can envelop her in cosy hugs? Minthara because... well, it's Minthara, I don't need other reason to seek out her poisoned kisses. Or should I adopt the monk lifestyle and remain celibate (now I'm wondering if there are Monk dialogue options to say, "Hey girl, sorry but I took a celibacy vow." If there are, I might go with that lol). Heeelp 😭😭

I vote Astarion because he is hot. Yeah, he is not an option, but at least I've tried.

Also, can you romance at the same time both him and the second guardian-character-person you create when starting the game? ...uuuh, asking for a friend

I actually went to bed (well, to the forest floor) with Astarion during the Tiefling party with my Drow. But I don't have the will to full-on romance male characters 😂

Uh... yes, you can. Is this your first time playing? If so, I'll be very curious to read about the development of your love story with your Guardian :)

Fair enough!

Tbh I installed it from my brother's family share thingie, made a character that looks A LOT like myself, passed the controller for my partner make a guardian that doesn't look that much like herself (well, the guardian was a romance option so I thougth it made sense) and I pretty much don't know shit about the game. Only did the intro Nautilus ship thing so far and never played again since.

Game looks like tons of fun, but I feel intimidated by its size tbh. Currently playing MH Rise (I know, another big game) in bite sized sessions, probably will jump to Trails in the Sky before considering BG3. It probably is better than both, I know

Ooooh, exciting! Don't worry about BG3's size. It looks big, but the map technically isn't that big. However, unlike many "open-world" games, every quest in BG3 matters. Like, you're not playing fetch games or going around chasing people. They all add to the lore, and many quests will have repercussions later on. Act 1 is the biggest, you should stay on it between 35-40h. So yeah, take your time to explore, find all the content, and level up your characters (you can leave Act 1 nearly on level 7 if you want). It's worth it!

I may be biased, but you don't even feel those hours! The funny thing about BG3 is that the map is quite compact once you know what you're doing and where you're going. It's faster on subsequent playthroughs (I did most of Act 1 in "one day and a half" - less since I didn't really play all those hours - with Zhu), but yeah, on your first run, it's worth taking things slower and thoroughly explore everything. Also, Act 1 is the longest. Act 2 is comparatively short, and while Act 3 has a looot to do, it's fun because you'll be wrapping up a lot of stories, including of your companions (and, truth be told, you might not even do all the stuff in Act 3 since you'll likely reach level 12 soon after reaching the last act).
