As the name suggests, the Queer Indie Awards is an annual event where a bunch of indie queer books are chosen for some categories, and then people get to vote on their favourites. And this year, my book, This Is How Immortals Die, is competing! I'm delighted to see my wee book among so many great titles, and if you read it and think it deserves your vote (or at least if you think the cover deserves your vote hehe), you can find it in the following categories:

  • Best Overall Dark Fantasy
  • Best Genre Romance
  • Best New Adult (18-25)
  • Best Cover
  • Best Lead Character (Ishana)
  • Best Supporting Character (Rosenwyn)
  • Best Romantic Relationship (Carys & Ishana)
  • Best Worldbuilding
  • Best Debut

Wow ... that's a lot of options. 😅
I kinda feel bad that I voted based on title before realizing you could skip categories but ... I wasn't going back through all that.

Not ignorant at all! The authors themselves submit their books to how many categories they want. From what I've seen, most independent competitions are like this. Some have stages in which only a few books are selected, but Queer Indie Awards puts everyone on the list as long as they followed the basic rules.

Aye, I follow the awards on Instagram, so I keep an eye on their posts :D Gotta find some others now too!

Thanks! There are many great books there, so... we'll see haha Either way, I'm happy for the visibility - if I gain some new readers, it will be great!
