for some reason recently twitter has been serving me more and more of these kinds of threads. they always bother me, but I can't quite put my finger on why
what's even more bothersome to me is that nothing about them is overtly wrong. Each image in the first thread, although somewhat simplifying, communicated a good message: don't give up on your goals, be yourself, etc, etc. I have no doubt the tips in the second thread could genuinely be a productivity boost (for people who often use Excel). And it's well-known to the point of cliche that Computer = Bad Posture
something about the presentation. these thread are not humble; they are not served with love. they tell you that life is hard, and you are doing it wrong, but that I Have Everything Figured Out and if you just Follow My Advice you, too, can have everything figured out. they draw a line between the author as a "have" and the reader as a "have not" (in some sense); they send the message that you're lesser than the author and ought to look up to them
