my housemate is struggling with a computer science assignment. it was due some time ago, she asked for an extension, but she forgot about it, and now it's due in one hour again (understandable honestly)
she says she doesn't have time to figure out the assignment. so i say turn it in late; i can help you when you're not super-duper stressed and actually have mental space to learn. but she's not able to tolerate the idea; seems she feels a need to turn something in to get partial credit and to try and secure a good grade in the course
few minutes later she goes, "oh!" and opens up chatGPT
our current collective habits of education are so fucked, man. none of that was about actually learning the content. and i don't think it's her fault!
