Opinions are everyone else's
I prefer warriors who win fights.
Honestly, I'm kind of surprised this still happens. 300 came and went, and it's kinda startling to learn it apparently had enough of an impact on Bros that two generations have had to deal with this phenomena.
But they were so masculine and manly! Ruthless and fearless and with so many six packs. There is simply no way being a boneheaded idiot leads to getting your ass handed to you more consistently than any other civilization in antiquity!
It isn't just two generations; mythologizing Sparta has been a thing with wannabe tough guys since some historians in the the literal Roman empire.
It amuses me that the Roman Empire had its own version of the "really into Sparta guy"
I checked which specific guy I was thinking of and its Plutarch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plutarch#Spartan_lives_and_sayings
