I really really wanted to like this game. It looks great, it sounds great.
Unfortunately, it does not play great. :(
The difficulty is... brutal. I feel like it's balanced for hyper-expert players; I couldn't beat even the first level on easy.
I managed to beat all the story levels and the Puyo one, but with a C; I only got a B in two of them.
The button pressing didn't really feel that much more difficult than a Parappa game; but the scratching needs a LOT of work. The dpad on my controller couldn't handle the quick alternating scratching that it wanted me to do (L/R or U/D) and it kept detecting the wrong directions (when accidentally hitting a diagonal), which dinged my score. Even the earlier songs have too much emphasis on the scratching.
It also seems to give you extra points for button mashing? Like a spot where you have to press A twice, if you press it four times, it gives you more points. But it feels random. Sometimes pressing a different button will give you more points, other times it'll hurt you.
I know it's a beta but I hope the developer pays attention to what people say about the game. I don't want to sound mean, it just needs a lot of work...
