Back when the 3DS was current, I was all-in on Team Vita instead - it's fun to back the underdog in a console race, and to prove my allegiance, I played my Vita almost exclusively for portable gaming for several years. As a result, I ended up missing out on a lot of the latter half of the 3DS library - to be honest, I kinda resented the 3DS for so soundly crushing my favorite little handheld.

But time heals all wounds, and in recent months, I've come back to the 3DS with an open heart, and I've had a great time! The Switch has begun to bore me in recent years with its bland OS, lack of games using its few unique hardware features, and a general move away from quirky personality. Meanwhile, the 3DS had StreetPass, Play Coins, Custom Themes & Badges, Miiverse, and of course the titular 3D screen - a lot of incidental things which aren't necessary, but still add to the fun of using the system and allow for different kinds of games which can be made on those systems. It's the same reason I ended up loving the Vita's most unique games!

The 3D slider stays ON in this house because it's fun and likely never coming back for any other system, which makes me appreciate it all the more. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, after all, and I can finally say that I've made my peace with the 3DS, and I love it just like I love the Vita. Here's to the weirdos living their best life!

I dont regret it cos I got to play a lot of cool games regardless. But when it came to xmas and I wanted a DS, like my friends had; my dad decided to get me a PSP instead cos "the DS looked like it was for little kids and the PSP was more powerful with a bigger and higher rez screen".

I do think abt what it would have been like to have had a DS instead. But its fine cos now I have multiples of both ehehe

I regret selling my 3DS. It was such a good system, if nothing else for the novelty of street pass and the cool games you could play with it. Remember the flower growing game?? That was so cool. I also have fond memories of the people who’d show up on my street pass screen from my daily commute. We were ships passing in the night, but at least we said hello, in a way.

I should fire up my vita for the good old time (Spelunky).

YEAH im on the opposite side, though i got my 3ds fairly recently (nearly a year ago), im starting to appreciate the ps vita and the psp. my first console was a ps3 actually (that belonged to my brother, he broke it) i found in a thrift store for like 60 bucks in 2018 (i was pretty young back then lol)
