a neat idea i saw someone suggest was hand-writing an absolutely minimal rss/atom file (it can just be a regular file) with nothing but a single "under construction" entry in it, so creatures here can add the site to readers now and just have it sit dormant

then later, if you ever start posting there and it starts generating new rss/atom at the same URL, readers will pick up the change and they'll start seeing your stuff with no further action needed

just kinda like, a bookmark to start receiving updates later if they ever happen!
