Nothing interesting

I am reading the first book of the Corum series, The Knight of Swords. The writing is not very subtle at all. There is zero subtext, everything is text, and with the exception of the first chapter, the descriptions are utilitarian. That style does sometimes work to give distance to the event described, which make them feel more mythic, but not always. It reads well though.
Anyway, I'm at the point where Corum, after losing one eye and one arm, find a castle habited by humans (oh yeah, Corum isn't human, he's another humanoid species). The lady of the castle is a widow who is kind, motherly and beautiful. In another words, she has no personality except what is required for her to be comforting to our hero. And to do that, she drugs him, then lay in bed petting his hairs for days, then sleep with him once he wake up.
And like... wow. Like, who does that? She hears that a Vadagh is coming to the castle, that he is wounded, and she think "I'm gonna fuck him." She is willing to drug him for that! I'm getting some Misery vibe.
Actually, I would love to learn more about her perspective. I would love to read the perspective of a monsterfucker who is willing to drug her victim so she can watch them sleep, because I love reading about awful people, I think they are so much more interesting than normal people. Unfortunately, that is my own opinion of the character, the text opinion of the character is that she is the mom Corum can fuck. Manic Pixy Dream Girl but with mom energy.
