I've been meaning to make a sort of proto-metroidvania for a while. I posted a map of it a few weeks ago. Here is a preview of all most of the verbs in the game, minus hurt, running, death, and maybe a few others like maybe ledge grabbing.
The character will have a similar move set to Samus in the 2D Metroids. You'll be able to aim in 7 directions while on the ground (standing, walking, crouching), and 8 in the air. Like my previous game, you'll be able to run but can't attack while running because I like how that makes running feel. Though I might change that once it's in the game proper. As in the my previous game, you'll start with a handful of weapons and only one of them has a special different attack animation.

I'm keeping the tiles 4x4. Originally I wanted to upgrade to 8x8 but I kinda like how quickly I can draw teensy character art, but it is a very difficult limitation. I know why games eventually settled on a 16x16 standard. I'm not a good/patient enough artist for that though.
