with its super intricate lore, puzzles and metroidvania exploration. I've been itching to play something else in that vein but there isn't much else like La-Mulana. I involuntarily started thinking about how I would make a game in that style and those thoughts have been festering for a while. I'm at the point where I'm subconsciously clicking on Godot tutorials that would be relevant for making it.

The hardest and most time consuming parts of my current game project have been writing (well over 100k words) and puzzle design and I absolutely cannot jump straight into something that'll probably be even more complex. I would die.

I'm begging someone, anyone, to make another La-Mulana-like so I don't have to.

in reply to @Qwarq's post:

I'fe been on that same boat about thaf same series a couple times, hehe. I've even had a dream once I had madef la-mulana 3 once (it took place on teh moon for some reason)

I am also in a bit of conflict wiff these feeling cuz the types of games I wanna make aren'f really in that vein (every game I wanna make has hugely changing backdrops [even paradoxically teh one thaf takes place in teh same building] and you're exploring themes and teh psychology of live characters rather than a place or a history... (which in turn, does make me wonder if there couldn't bee a la-mulana-like thaf Does primarily involve the exploration of living minds, hehe)

Idk what else to say (specially since I am off to an appointment) but yesh, someone please make an à-la-mulana...

I've started work on a small-scale one but I dunno if it'll ever get off the ground. A friend and their partner were interested in working on it together, but they didn't know GameMaker which I had been using and also I don't like GameMaker so I wanted to switch to Godot, but it just. hasn't happened (yet?) and consequently everything has stalled. Honestly I think it's pretty unlikely I'll ever finish the thing!

but I have certainly thought about it and tried.

I saw one of your videos of that project while browsing the La-Mulana tag the other day and it looks cool! I hope you're able to finish it because I desperately want to play more La-Mulana-likes.
