If I could change just one thing about computer standards I would gather up all current removable storage form factors and put that shit in the trash where it belongs, and force everyone to use a standard removable solid state storage which uses a heavy duty never fails locking and ejection mechanism like 3.5" floppies did.
I've lost so many perfectly functional thumb drives simply because the stupid things hang off an agonizingly fragile USB port, pins on both sides of the connection bending and bending with every use. And don't even get me started on SD cards.
