cohost has many redeeming features but I think the greatest relief comes from knowing that you can simply click 'like' on a cute drawing of someone's fursona with their hog out, without worrying about a statistical model somewhere deciding that a random subset of your followers need to have it shoved under their noses too

i never used twitter and at this point you could tell me that looking at a tweet too long would automatically retweet it and i'd be forced to believe you. panopticon website
They were planning on making bookmarks visible to everyone at one point and instead compromised by making "how many people bookmarked this" public. This is still just as bad.
Instead, I consciously choose that my followers should get that fursona with their hog out shoved under their noses!
my twitter feed used to be all "Terrible powerful person does something Transphobic again Let's cancel them again" and qrts of people roasting conservatives because my mutuals kept liking them. and i kept spreading it myself by liking them. no wonder twitter users are so miserable.
