It's quite a rare sight in the city.
There used to be a tree in that spot but it broke during a strong winds episode last year. The next one was cut down because of some kind of infection.
They were supposed to plant new trees but they just dug around the round hole making it square and left it as is. Lots of weeds spawned as well as that sunflower plant. I wonder if somebody actually planted it on purpose. Also I have to ask the guardian if I can maybe get the one ripe sunflower, I love picking the seeds of these, it's a thing I remember learning to do during my summers in Poland as a kid. I haven't seen that in France, most people buy the seeds in bags and you just never see a whole flower at markets and stores.
