This is more of a personal take, but if you're new and feel like you have to dump the entire backlog of old art before you can properly use the site, I suggest just starting fresh with your recent art or choose your favorites. I'm hearing a lot of mutuals gettin' stressed about having to spend an entire day uploading their portfolio onto a new site. You really don't have to.

Don't get me wrong, having a central organized place for all of your art is very important. And If you want to use this place as your main gallery page, then sure, go for it! But there are other sites like Itaku that do a much better job of archiving your art imo. Having at least one place for your portfolio and one place for general posting has always been my outlook as an indie artist!

That said, if the obligation to transfer all of your Twitter content here is overloading your brain and causing you to neglect your page, then don't. Relax. Reflect on the art that you're most proud of and post that. Otherwise just vibe!

Nothing wrong with having a professional presentation, but not every social platform has to be treated like Linkedin!

So glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't feel like they need to move everything when trying out a new platform.
If anything "starting over" is usually a fun experience.
I mean, unless it's business related then I can understand that it sucks not to have a good portfolio of your stuff available.
Tho imo at that point I also think that it's better to have commission info and samples on a separate page (i.e: own website, or even a google doc)
(sorry for the rambling oops)

Strong agree. I was stuck uploading my entire backlog before twitter's most recent blow up. Didn't get it all up in time, too late to pretend to be perfectly pre established here.

But I don't have to post all the old stuff before I post new stuff. I don't gotta impress anyone. I WANT to impress people, but it's not like a job. If I get a wild hair and want to write something new, there is NO REASON for me to sit on that until my backlog is done. Just post
