Sorry for the three weeks(!) between updates. I did manage to work on HoiHoi san on a few days during those weeks, and hit an important milestone today: cutting out and sanding the last pieces I intended to use for this kit! I did leave a couple of nubs on the katana and main body of the broom, which will hopefully be removed after spray priming. All that's left over are some spare polycaps, a spare ahoge, and her pistol, the latter of which I never intended to put together.
Anyway, as I had done with HoiHoi-san Mini in the past, I ended up painting all the black parts. Tried shading on the skirt, but it didn't look good, so I just went with black all over. The skirt and antennae were especially troublesome. Paint also went on her USB port and cover (gold and orange, respectively), and I started the laborious process of painting her hair. Last year, I experimented with gradients using water-based acrylics (with mixed results), so HoiHoi-san's hair is a continuation of that. The short front bangs are allllllmost there, the longer bits need more work, and the ahoge? I'm not sure about the status of the ahoge...
Other than finishing up her hair, I have to prime the broom, katana, and audio plug and paint those. My first time using spray primer (tried the brush-on stuff a long time ago and... didn't like it), so it should be an adventure 😛
