this is exactly why I was sceptical of fedi from the first moment it was explained to me tbh. The second I heard "instances can block other instances" I knew it was gonna be fragmented and unusable

I can’t even keep up with the drama that causes my instance to block another. I stopped using it regularly because every time I logged on (multiple times a day for the first few weeks), I always felt like I was playing catch up on some inter-instance issue and only getting half the story because I couldn’t see the posts being criticized anymore. It’s like getting on tumblr and stumbling into discourse but literally every single time I logged on and seemingly far too immediate to my experience to ignore the way I do tumblr discourse when it gets too frequent.
