On January 2nd, 2011, Zellers' King Mark Foote had signed a detente with high-ranking officials of the Republic of Target and proclaimed to all that peace would exist between the two otherwise tense factions. On January 13th, one day after Zeddy had passed away, Target declared war and began to invade the lands that Zellers occupied.
Within a year, Target had managed to knock out most of Zellers' locations and began a regime change. What were once properties of Zellers were forcibly becoming Target locations but the rapid expansion of the Republic into these royal lands were not without trouble for the aggressive republic.
Zellers lost its last major footing in 2014 but kept a small resistance going until 2020. Despite Target having razed the lands it occupied and left them barren in 2015 for other republics to take over, the defeat of Zellers made it impossible for the rebels to take the vacuum left behind.
In 2022, descendants of the rebels made an attempt at a revival of their culture within the Duchy of Hudson Bay, but that is a story for another time.
