I've actually begun to use other people's code like a responsible person instead of hacking together garbage. I've been an Ink user off and on for a few years now and while it's been very cool and I enjoy working in it, I didn't really know how to extend it, especially since I didn't have any interest in web dev.

Well, that's changed. Getting it going was a bit of a pain in the ass, like, installation was far from straightforward, the tutorial is for C# and not GDScript, and it requires using a different version of Godot than I was using, but I can confirm that I've at least got it working, and now I can fold this into the rest of my workflow pretty straightforwardly.

letting the segments pile up looks kinda dorky but this is a "fix" to having the segments all snap to their next curve. creating a closed loop where the segments properly "chase" each other and also has animation cues and is easy for a fallible human being to edit and arrange them into an interesting encounter is a surprisingly hard task to get exactly right

I didn't get any far because I was maybe a little too high to be productive but I had a vision for a top down arena shooter with a character riding a roomba kinda thing. You can kick the slider out from underneath yourself and switch from an inertia RC Car kinda controls to a more traditional top down run'n'gun vibe. As time passes, the roomba moves faster and faster without you on it, and if you don't get back on top of it on time, it EXPLODES (not demonstrated [i'm very lazy])

I don't know if I'm keeping the single screen thing or if I'm willing to learn how to operate the viewport/camera system just yet but
