Hey I know the people who do this are very well meaning but please, please: do not write an "informational" post with stuff you think you remember your doctor saying without serious verification. If you want to share the deets on what you learn at your appointment please at the very least take detailed notes during the appointment and caveat that they are unverified outside of your doctor making the claims.
Memory is just fallible, it's not even about controversial topics! I've seen people post widely accepted, established information that's simply backwards (e.g. getting the instructions to "spread skin out for IM injections, pinch for subq" reversed) or really incomprehensible lists of cause-effect relationships between symptoms and mechanisms that are just completely inaccurate. This is to say nothing of the fact that doctors just get stuff wrong, they're fully capable of saying shit backwards, mixing things up, being misinformed, or downright lying. A good friend of mine once witnessed a doctor in a teaching position tell a patient that amphetamines do not have a biochemical effect on people who do not have adhd.
And please don't spread these telephone game posts without looking into it yourself or at least adding your own caveat that it may not be true.
