Doing dumb crafts

A place where I post about the things I make and related stuff~

I didn't really have anything new to post for quite a while (yay making the same 5 things over and over again), but here's a present I made for the lovely Tavii!

Acrylic LED lights!
They are based on 3D renders of Tavii's Sona that I traced in illustrator to turn them into something I could engrave with my laser cutter. So art credit goes 100% to Tavii, I just did the technical work.

Check Tavii's work out here, they are a Sweetheart!

Interesting, thanks! I've been using a laser cutter at a makerspace near me, I can definitely keep using that but having a personal one is tempting. I owned an Ender 3 for a while so I'm definitely no stranger to upgrading shitty machines.

Having one of these is definitely really nice. Cutting out parts and engraving anything reasonably flat is fun as hell.
And compared to a 3d printer you can rapidly prototype parts as long as you have stock available.

The big drawbacks are the tinkering and space limitations. This one machine takes up more room than my two 3D printers plus washing station AND requires access to a window for venting.
