Preserving 'Need for Speed: GT'

You can play this, right now.

Need for Speed GT is the second version of GlobalVR's arcade conversion of EA Seattle's Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. Released in 2004, this upgrade to 2003's Need for Speed (arcade) added more cars, updated handling, and new, fancier UI and HUD elements.

There's history and and such below the fold, but if you just want to play NFS GT yourself, you can check out the writeup I put together.

UPDATE 1.1! YOU CAN REMAP CONTROLS NOW!

Turns out it's reading the default config from the vanilla game directory. I'd tried this and it didn't work before, but Awii (in the Discord) tried it themself and it worked for them, so I gave it another try on my main machine and it worked for me too.

I spent about four hours painstakingly tutorializing the process of creating new default controller bindings from scratch so that you can map your favorite controller.

It's in the document now. Have fun!
