i heard this sentiment too, that it's a bit, and i think it's important to be critical of dismissals like that, because the potential funniness of the supposed bit really does not warrant this level of commitment to it

there's a difference between being aware of your own lack of media literacy and asking for help with understanding it (perfectly Cool stuff, everyone had to learn somehow), and this... taking pride in not being willing to even try and communicate with what's being said and aaaaaa. we're screaming alongside you
You bring up an excellent point: That not understanding and reaching out for explanation is good! It's where we all started! But taking pride in ignorance is like... Gah, I don't even have words for it.
=n= Feels bad. Being connected more easily to wonderful and kind people around the world is really nice... but also having to see bad takes and opinions and just WHATEVER THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED, is... it just splinters the mind into a million jagged screaming pieces. Uggghhh...
