Right, and being the kinds of things our society thinks of as uniquely causing impulsivity are the kinds of things where socialization doesn't really stick partially because it seems like a terrible idea for effective communication.
and the downsides are often due to external pressures / direct manipulation in the case of... every scam and thing that's gambling under any other name, and impulsive shopping, etc
yes, there's a lot of impulsivity with other downsides, but a lot of the social understanding of "she's impulsive" is "she doesn't follow our forced politeness in the face of being dehumanized, surely she must be impulsive otherwise we need to reframe our entire life"
