Today is the Foxpaw twins’ fictional birthday!
I have no idea what day I first came up with Vixie, how long it took for me to give her a family, and all I know for sure is that it was at least 16 years ago, maybe longer.
Vixie was a lot of things—a vessel to explore my secret womanhood, my sexuality, my neurodivergence—but at this point she’s become a lasting part of my psyche and an inspiration!
Ellen’s weirder. She was a flat character made to complement Vixie and provide everything she needed—strong, gentle, protective. Motherly, in a word—not just to her twin, but all 71 of her sisters. Later, to give her a little depth, I gave her a sense of humor and a competitive streak.
And I just kept putting ‘em everywhere. From my own setting, Kiria, to the Korps and Terato Falls, and a million one-off RP settings, video games, tabletops, stories… they have a very special place in my heart. Hell, Kiria!Vixie got to marry Shyla before I did!
They mean so much to me, and getting to share them with my wife, my friends, and all of you and have them be loved and appreciated…
